Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 Doing Well Despite Setbacks

Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 is going strong despite having a bad start on Friday. Keeping in mind the chaos that has overtaken the country, the film managed to cross Rs. 80 crores during the weekend. The numbers would have further increased to around Rs. 85 crores if the situation would have been normal according to movie analysts. 

Sonakshi Sinha felt humbled that despite the chaotic environment movie buffs responded positively towards the film. She said, “We all know what is going on in the entire country. I think people know that what is more important, but I am honestly happy with the audience response to our film. At this moment, the entire country has come together on this matter (CAA protests) and it is more important than a film.”

The movie is directed by Prabhu Deva and besides Salman, it stars Sonakshi Sinha, Kichcha Sudeep, Saiee Manjrekar, Arbaaz Khan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Nawab Shah and Pramod Khanna. Salman Khan has contributed to the storyline along with Prabhu Deva, Aloke Upadhyaya, and Dilip Shukla.

In the film, Salman Khan is reprising the role of Chulbul Pandey while Sonakshi Sinha plays his wife Rajjo. Mahesh Manjrekar’s daughter Saiee Manjrekar has made her debut with the film and she plays Salman’s love interest before Rajjo. 

As per the latest reviews, the plot of the film is weak however Salman hasn’t disappointed his fans. He has done justice to his character in the film and perfectly emotes varied emotions. Some critics, however, say that Pandey’s character in this sequel is tad boring. The movie was also criticized for its length and therefore the creators decided to cut it short by 9 minutes. 

Dabangg 3 will face stiff competition from the upcoming Akshay Kumar film Good Newwz which is all set to hit screens end of December. That said, Dabangg 3 is expected to take advantage of the Christmas holidays and expand its numbers.
