Sara Tendulkar Named Face of Tourism Australia's New Campaign to Woo Indian Travellers

Sara Tendulkar, daughter of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, is all set to make her mark on the global stage as the newest brand ambassador for Tourism Australia’s international campaign, ‘Come and Say G’Day.’

The high-profile tourism initiative aims to attract visitors from around the world, and Sara’s appointment marks a strategic move to connect with India's vibrant and growing youth traveller demographic. Her inclusion in the campaign positions her alongside a stellar lineup of international personalities including British food writer and TV chef Nigella Lawson, Australian wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, Chinese actor Yosh Yu, and popular Japanese comedian Abareru-kun.

Australian actor Thomas Weatherall is also set to feature in the campaign, which is being presented as a TV-style series combined with a range of online video advertisements. These promotional pieces are designed to highlight the diverse attractions and experiences Australia has to offer – from nature and wildlife to culinary adventures and urban culture.

The campaign also brings back Ruby the Roo, a beloved CGI kangaroo mascot introduced in 2022, who returns as a symbolic guide through Australia’s wonders.

Tourism Australia Managing Director Philip Harrison emphasized the campaign’s global scope, stating:

“These international stars will combine with local talent to create bespoke invitations for five markets that are tailored for each country, showcasing the sort of tourism experiences travellers are looking for.”

Sara will be the face of the India-specific segment of the campaign, and will appear across a variety of digital platforms to engage with potential travellers. Her youthful charm, wide reach, and strong cultural influence in India are seen as key to sparking renewed interest in Australia as a must-visit destination.

With this campaign, Tourism Australia aims not just to boost visitor numbers, but also to create culturally relevant and emotionally resonant content that inspires people across the globe.
