Season 3 of Delhi Crime Tackles Human Trafficking with Stark Realism

Delhi Crime has made a powerful comeback with its third season, taking on one of the most urgent and disturbing issues of our time — human trafficking. The International Emmy-winning series premiered on Netflix on November 13, 2025.

This season follows DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, who has been transferred to Assam, where she is confronted with a trafficking network that stretches across villages, cities, and even international borders. Young girls are being lured with false promises of employment, some deceived by agents, while others — educated and from stable families — find themselves caught in the same dangerous trap.

The case takes a darker turn when an abandoned baby is discovered in a hospital, leading investigators to a web of secrets at the heart of the trafficking racket.

Season 3 features a strong ensemble cast, including Huma Qureshi, Rasika Dugal, Sayani Gupta, Denzil Smith, Mita Vasisht, Gopal Datt, Kelly Dorji, and Anshumaan Pushkar, and many more.

On Instagram, Huma Qureshi — who plays Meena, the season’s central antagonist — reflected on the complexity of her role. “Playing Meena was both powerful and unsettling. She’s shaped by trauma yet wields immense control. Delhi Crime doesn’t glorify or sensationalise — it confronts uncomfortable truths that many prefer to ignore,” she wrote.

Qureshi’s portrayal of the ruthless trafficker stands in sharp contrast to Shefali Shah’s DCP Vartika. Though the two actors come from very different backgrounds, both women bring to the screen characters who have faced and challenged deeply rooted patriarchal structures to claim their space and strength.
