Selena Gomez Says “I Am Perfect the Way I Am” While Slamming Online Trollers

Despite being a successful artist Selena Gomez has been a target of social media trolls who targeted her looks and her body.

Being a strong defender of body positivity, Selena naturally stood up to all the online haters.

Even recently Selena Gomez has tackled body shamers by sharing a video on the popular video sharing app Tik Tok.

In the video Selena said, “I have been trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings and a spicy chicken sandwich.”

But honestly, I don’t care about my weight, because people b*tch about it anyway: ‘You’re too small, you’re too big, that doesn’t fit, meh meh meh meh’.”

Lopez has previously admitted that she experiences weight fluctuations.

“I hav and deal with kidney issues and high blood pressure, so I deal with a lot of health issues, and for me that’s when I really started noticing more of the body image stuff.”

Selena said that there are a combination of factors that affect her weight which includes the medications that she’s takes following a kidney transplant that she had in 2017.

“That’s just my truth, I fluctuate”, she said while giving an interview for the Giving Back Generation videocast.

She not only had to deal with the challenges that Lupus (a chronic autoimmune disease) and kidney disease brought to her body but dealing with the negative comments about her body weight messed her up big time.

She was first criticized when she posed for her 2015 album cover ‘Revival’.’

When pictures from her Mexico vacation surfaced online where she was seen relaxing beside a swimming pool in a pink bikini, she again became a target of online criticism.

The ‘Same Old Love’ singer seems to be in a good place now and has successfully emerged from her darkness. Taking a break from social media improved her mental health as she stayed away from trolls.

“I don’t care to expose myself to everyone and hear what they have to say about it,” she told Good Morning America in an interview.

Selena now doesn’t invest her time on what people have to say about her or her body.

“I am perfect the way I am…” the singer admitted in the Tik Tok video.
