Shantanu Naidu Becomes The General Manager and Head of Strategic Initiatives at Tata Motors

Shantanu Naidu, manager and close friend of the late Ratan Tata, has been appointed General Manager and Head of Strategic Initiatives at Tata Motors.

He celebrated the achievement of landing this thrilling new position, by sharing the good news on LinkedIn. 

“I'm happy to share that I'm starting a new position as General Manager, Head - Strategic Initiatives at Tata Motors! I remember when my father used to walk home from the Tata Motors plant in his white shirt and navy pants, and I would wait for him in the window. It comes full circle now”, he thoughtfully wrote. 

He will play a key role in shaping the company’s future strategies. 

Naidu earned his Engineering degree from Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2014, and completed his MBA at Cornell University in 2016.

He grabbed heavy media attention due to his close friendship with the late Ratan Tata. Many videos of the two of them spending time with each other have gone viral on the net. 

In 2014, Shantanu’s innovative initiative, Motopaws,  which aims to protect street dogs from fast-moving vehicles, caught Ratan Tata’s attention. Tata even invested in the project and later became his employer and mentor. 

In 2021, Shantanu Naidu came up with another start-up, Goodfellows, that aims at erasing loneliness among senior citizens by offering them emotional support and companionship. 

Shantanu Naidu shared his special bond with the famous industrialist and philanthropist in his published book titled I Came Upon a Lighthouse.
The stories delve into the unique bond between a millennial and an octogenarian. They shed light on their shared experiences and reveal a side of Mr. Ratan Tata that the public hasn't seen.
