Shraddha Kapoor is on cloud nine as her recent movies such as ‘Saaho’ and ‘Chhichore’ have done pretty well at the box office. 

From singing in some of her movies, performing stage shows to lighting the ramp on fire in fashion shows, everything seems to be going great for the young ‘Aashiqui 2’ actress. 

Her pretty face, her petite body and her down to earth demeanor have attracted fans since the time she entered the Indian film industry. The actress has grown and has come a long way in the world of movies albeit her pretty smile had been concealing something that we haven’t known about until recently.

Shakti Kapoor’s daughter recently revealed that she had been battling anxiety for over six years. This comes as a big surprise as the actress comes across as a bubbly and a happy go lucky person. Shraddha revealed that after completing her film ‘Aashiqui 2’ she experienced pain in her body. She didn’t know what was causing the pain and thus approached doctors however all her medical reports were clear. “It's bizarre because I kept thinking why I was getting that pain. Then I kept asking myself why that is happening”, she revealed.

It was not long before she discovered that it was anxiety and it was having physical manifestations in her body. Earlier she never even knew what anxiety was and thus these physical symptoms left her confused. Today she has progressed from ‘not knowing what anxiety was' to 'embracing it and dealing with it.' The ‘Baaghi’ actress also has given some valuable advice to those dealing with the discomfort. She advises, “Somewhere you have to embrace it. You have to accept it as part of yourself and approach it with a lot of love. That made a big difference. Whether you have anxiety or not, you always need to understand who you are or what you stand for”.

Anxiety has its large tentacles spread in the film industry as artists and performers are always under constant pressure to perform. They are constantly under the public’s glare and personal lives lie exposed. Hollywood is no different. Celebrities like Kristen Bell, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato have all opened up about their anxiety battles. One can imagine what goes through these artists who are battling mental health disorders and simultaneously have to perform in front of live audiences. It is not easy for sure!

It is therefore commendable of Shraddha to break the stigma around mental disorders and speak about her journey with anxiety. The actress’ revelations would certainly help those who are largely affected by the disorder today. It is not that the actress is completely free of the disorder however it is much better than what it was, the charming actress reveals.
