Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponed after Health Scares

The wedding of Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal has been postponed following sudden health-related emergencies affecting both families.

Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, was hospitalised on Sunday after developing symptoms consistent with angina pectoris, a type of chest pain linked to coronary artery disease.

An ECG was conducted and revealed no major abnormalities, but his blood pressure remained elevated, prompting doctors to keep him under observation as a precaution, family sources said.

Compounding the situation, groom-to-be Palash Muchhal also fell ill around the same time. He reportedly experienced symptoms of a viral infection along with increased acidity.

According to NDTV, “Palash had to go to a private hospital for treatment due to a viral infection and increased acidity. However, the issue wasn't serious. After receiving treatment, Palash has already left the hospital and returned to the hotel.”

With both families prioritising health and recovery, the couple decided to postpone the wedding festivities. A new date is expected to be announced once the situation stabilises.
