Some Hope, as China Shows Drop in New Coronavirus Cases

Inspite of all negative news involving Coronavirus in China and outside, sometimes little indication tends to give hope, hope for betterment and hope of recovery. After months of medical uncertainty, some hope of recovery has been observed recently. 

On Saturday, only 397 new cases have been reported nationwide, which is down in comparison to the nearly 900 cases officially reported latest on Friday, this indicates the drop in the rate of new Coronavirus cases in China. 

According to the National Health Commission of China, recently the death toll in China from the new coronavirus outbreak rose by 109, thus bringing the total number of deaths to 2,345. And 397 new cases were reported across the country on Saturday, thus bringing the total number of cases across the world to over 76,000.

The drop in new cases of the novel coronavirus infection came at a time when medical and survey officials in Hubei province whose capital city Wuhan is the epicentre the coronavirus outbreak were asked to once again revise the figures to clear "doubt" around the data associated with the coronavirus cases. 

During revision it was found that the number of new cases across the country on February 19 was revised to 820 which is up from 394 reported previously, the National Health Commission has confirmed on Saturday.

The commission also adjusted the growth rate as the total confirmed cases for February 20 are over 400 cases, which led to a total of 75,891 coronavirus affected cases. The decision to revise and check past data of Hubei province is the latest in a string of changes, which are made to update Hubei's counting method thus increasing the efforts to track the spread of the illness.

Last week, health officials in China added patients from Hubei province, who had been diagnosed through clinical methods including lung imaging on the top of those confirmed by lab tests. But recently the medical officials have backtracked the decision and deducted 279 cases which they had ordered to re-add to the total count on Friday.

So far the viral outbreak of coronavirus in China has infected more than 77,000 people across the world. China bears the burn most as it has infected more than 76,000 people so far and 2,345 people died in China because of the virus. The virus was first originated in Hubai city, capital of Wuhan province of China in December last year.
