This year’s Met Gala 2024 dress code was ‘The Garden of Time’ and many celebrities beautifully brought out the significance of the dress rules through their larger than life ensembles. The theme was interpreted differently by each celebrity.
The ‘Garden of Time’ is inspired by a short story of the same name created by J G Ballard.
There have been several eye-catching celebrity moments at the 2024 Met Gala fashion extravaganza that took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Gigi Hadid wore an off shoulder white corset dress with exaggerated hips. The dress was layered underneath a white silk moiré coat with black duchesse satin tipping. The voluminous outer layered skirt was festooned with 3D yellow roses and thorn appliqués. The voluminous skirt took a team of 40 people more than 8500 hours to embroider.

Alia Bhatt looked gorgeous in a Sabyasachi floral pastel green saree which was just apt for the Met Gala’s garden dress code. The saree was made of sheer fabric and was embossed with 3D flowers. The traditional saree had a long trail that added to the magnificence of the saree. This is Alia’s second time at the Met Gala. That being said, she exuded a lot of confidence.

Zendaya grabbed everyone’s attention in two striking looks; the custom Margiela look and the vintage Givenchy dress from the house's spring 1996 collection. She completed the Margiela look with an attractive headpiece. Keeping in mind the theme and dress code, Zendaya’s dress was an ode to the natural world.

Kendall Jenner wore a dress from Alexander McQueen’s Givenchy 1999 couture collection. The sleek glitter dress had striking V hip cutouts. A gold collar lined the plunging neckline. The shoulders had a row of waist length gold fringe that added to the beauty of the ensemble. This is Kendall’s tenth stunning appearance at the Met Gala!

Singer Lana Del Ray attended the event in Alexander Mcqueen’s Seán McGirr. Lana looked pretty in the beige coloured dress lined with branches. Even the headpiece was made of hawthorn branches that were wrapped in a tulle veil. This was Lana’s third year at the glamorous event!
