Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have kicked off their lavish €55 million wedding celebrations in Venice, Italy. The main ceremony is set on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, with luxury accommodations, Murano glass decor, and top-tier catering.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is set to marry longtime partner Lauren Sanchez in an opulent three-day celebration in Venice, Italy, with festivities that began on June 24. The wedding, reportedly costing €55 million (over ₹548 crore), has drawn the world’s attention not only for its star-studded guest list but also for its scale and exclusivity.
The main ceremony is expected to take place at the stunning San Giorgio Maggiore, an island located just across the Grand Canal from Venice’s famed St. Mark’s Square. To maintain privacy and handle potential paparazzi disruptions, the couple has secured multiple venues across the city.
More than 200 high-profile guests from politics, business, and Hollywood have descended upon the floating city. Early arrivals included Ivanka Trump and husband Jared Kushner, accompanied by their three children. The family was seen boarding a water taxi on Tuesday, highlighting the unique Venetian charm serving as the backdrop for Bezos’ second wedding.
Other guests include Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Kris Jenner, Michael Kives with Lydia, and media mogul Barry Diller along with fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg. Attendees are being accommodated in some of Venice’s most luxurious hotels, including the iconic Hotel Danieli, the Gritti Palace, and the Cipriani.
Adding to the wedding’s opulence, famed Venetian pastry shop Rosa Salva will serve desserts and aperitifs. Catering is expected to be handled by renowned establishments La Dogaressa and Cipriani. Decorative accents, including custom glassware and artistic pieces, have been designed by Laguna B, a Murano glassmaker celebrated for its craftsmanship. Guests will also receive goody bags curated by the same atelier.
While the extravagant affair has been lauded for its elegance, it has not been without controversy, with some questioning the scale of the celebration amid global economic uncertainty. Nevertheless, Venice is buzzing as one of the world’s richest men ties the knot in a city steeped in romance and history.
