Super 30 Fame Anand Kumar Receives Invite from Cambridge University to Speak at the Union

Anand Kumar once received the Cambridge University admission letter, aspired to study at this prestigious institution, however, his financial condition came in between. But now the times have changed and the tables have turned. It is the Cambridge University itself that has sent out an invitation to Kumar to speak at the Union!

For Anand Kumar, this is a dream come true. The brilliant mathematician reacted to this remarkable development saying, “It is a dream that has come true for me as I get an opportunity to speak where I once so much wanted to study, but could not go due to poor financial condition.”

While nearly half of the global population could merely fancy studying at the Cambridge, England, one of the world's oldest universities, this Indian brilliant mathematician made his parents happy and proud by succeeding at the Cambridge entrance. But, not being able to claim the seat wasn’t his failure, time stands as a proof of that, indeed. 

“It is a big thing for me. I recall my late father, who was so happy the day my admission letter from Cambridge had come and later he was crestfallen when he could not arrange money for it. I feel the invitation from the Cambridge Union has come wrapped with his blessings,” exclaims the Super 30 man.  

The Cambridge invitation letter read, "Your Super 30 programme has helped to break social and educational barriers in India while gaining worldwide attention for your selfless actions.".

The Super 30 programme, developed and started by Anand Kumar prepares 30 most deserving IIT candidates absolutely free of cost, every year. The initiative that gained popularity within a small period, has happened to churn out numerous IIT scholars.

It goes without saying, that this Indian educator’s life is a motivation for hundreds. In fact, this motivational journey was captured in the 2019 Hindi biopic starring Hrithik Roshan.
