British Model Naomi Campbell dropped a big surprise for her fans and followers when she announced that she’s become a mom to a baby girl. The news comes as a big revelation as she’s decided to embark on this new phase at the age of 50.
She announced on Instagram by penning down these beautiful words on Instagram, “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love.”
It is not yet clear whether Campbell adopted the baby girl or she used modern methods such as IVF to become a mother.
The supermodel had dropped hints earlier that she might use modern science to begin a new family. She told UK’s Evening Standard Magazine, “Now with the way science is, I think I can do it when I want.”
It was evident that Naomi desired to have children since long and she has been very vocal about it. She’s already the godmother to many of her friends’ kids.
She’s broken stereotypes by choosing to be a mother at the age of 50. She has joined the likes of other supermodel moms such as Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bundchen, and Gigi Hadid.
Naomi has always come to the forefront when it comes to issues that have always been close to her heart. She was vocal about racial bias that existed in the fashion industry.
She said, “I may be considered one of the top models in the world, but in no way do I make the same money as any of them.” She joined Iman and Bethann Hardison, created an advocacy group called ‘Diversity Coalition’ to highlight the issue of racial bias.

The supermodel is a humanitarian at heart and has done immense philanthropic work in her long tenure as a model. Naomi is part of numerous charitable causes such as the Nelson Mandela’s Children’s Fund. She organized a benefit Versace fashion show for this purpose in 98.
She supported the Breakthrough Breast Cancer as her own mother battled with breast cancer. In 2005 she founded the charity ‘We Love Brazil’ to raise funds to fight poverty in Brazil through sale of fabrics by local women.
Another charity founded by her called ‘Fashion for Relief’ raised funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina, Haiti Earthquake, Japan earthquake in 2011 and victims of the Mumbai terrorist attacks in 2008.
In 2009 she became a goodwill Ambassador for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood that emphasized on promoting maternal health.
