Sushmita Sen Shares Valuable Advice Especially for Women above 40 in Twinkle’s Channel

Sushmita Sen appeared on Twinkle Khanna’s Youtube Channel ‘The Icons: Tweak India and gave her valuable perspective on interesting topics such as relationships, motherhood, men, and the decisions she took in her life with grace. The conversation was scintillating. As always the actress spoke her mind and heart out honestly.

During her engaging conversation with host Twinkle Khanna, she shared interesting facets of her life that are motivating to women especially those who’ve touched 40. The former “Miss Universe” admits that the “best phase” of her life began after 40. After 38 her attention shifted from her looks to her health. Hair, make-up, and skin became secondary. She also learned that while enduring life’s challenges the only thing you have is “you” although she didn’t know this before she was 40.

She believes that many women find their true calling very late in life. It is important to be true to your identity. Many women tend to lose themselves as they get caught up in the daily rut of life.

“Khud Ko Khoya To Kya Paaya? (If you lose yourself, then you’ve won nothing”, she rightly points out.

“40 is my day one. I’ve just begun” she proudly says.

Unlike many celebrities, the actress has always been honest and open about her personal life. “Be that plastic surgery, be that men in my life, be that relationships, be that a married man, be that whatever you think is a bad thing. It exists.Get over it”

Sen revealed that she had come close to getting married three times but it didn’t finally work out. She however reveals that her daughters are not the reason behind her broken relationships. She shared that it was God who saved her three times.

The former “Miss Universe” admits that she has made a lot of mistakes during her interesting journey. That said, she does not carry any guilt because she never lied about them. According to her, it’s not the person who is committing the mistake who is small, rather it’s the person who is judging is small. Their mindset is small.

“Tumhara dimaag chota hain, tumhara dil chota hain, samne wala insaan chota nahin hain. Tumhe kya lagta hain humne koi galtiyain nahi ki life me? Daba ke kiya hai. Danke ki chot pe kiya hai (It’s not the person who is small, but others' mindset and heart. You think we have not made any mistake in life? We have done plenty.) I don't carry any guilt about them, because I never bullsh*t about them”, she expressed in the candid interview.

The bold actress is known for making some unconventional life choices. She’s adopted two girls Renee and Alisah. She adopted her first child Renee when she was only 24 and single. Fortunately, she got a lot of support from her father and her entire family when she decided to raise Renee. It was not long before she adopted another girl-child Alisah.

She still gets a lot of advice from people on how to raise her kids and she finds it quite annoying. Sushmita said, “When you're an adoptive parent everybody in the world thinks they have a business of telling you how to raise your child because tumhe nahi aata hain (you don’t know how to).” Initially, she used to listen to them as she believed that they had greater experience “but it still happens.”

“They still think that they can tell me how best to raise my children because they're adopted. I find that extremely annoying and I have to spiritually awaken inside to forgive that sometimes.”

Her advice to everyone is to enjoy being alive.

“I have had the privilege to be 46. Don’t be afraid to grow old. Just remember to live your life. It's a beautiful, most powerful vehicle you’ll ever have.”
