Sylvester Stallone Is Back as Rambo in Upcoming Rambo 5

According to new reports, Sylvester Stallone is going to hit the screen in the fifth film of the Rambo franchise. The actor took to Instagram and threw hints of the upcoming Rambo film. He wrote “Starting soon and getting very excited. The world may be changing but not him, NOTHING IS OVER!”

The production of the yet-to-be-titled movie will begin sometime in September. Just like some of his previous flicks, Stallone will be co-working on the script of this movie too. He directed the last ‘Rambo’ movie in 2008 but would not be directing this one. As per reports, Adrian Grunberg has been signed up as the Director of the movie who has directed movies like Mel Gibson’s ‘Get the Gringo.’ Avi Lerner who produced movies such as ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ and ‘The Expendables’ is the producer of this project.

Plot

John Rambo is living a quiet life in a family ranch in Arizona after staying abroad for years. Disturbed and troubled, he’s passing his days by picking up casual work wherever he can. A longtime friend and estate manager Maria informs Rambo that her granddaughter has gone missing after she crossed into Mexico borders for a party. Old habits die hard which is why Rambo sets off with Maria to the land of Mexico to rescue the youngster just like his previous odysseys.

During his investigations, he discovers that the girl has become a victim of a sex trafficking ring. He teams up with a journalist whose half-sister has also been kidnapped apparently by the same gang. Both of them work as a team to crack the human trafficking ring and in the process, he has to take on a vicious Mexican cartel. Going by the plot, the movie promises to be action packed infused with a lot of violence and bloodshed.

Sylvester Stallone last played John Rambo in 2008 as a former U.S. soldier who lives in a village close to the Burmese border. Amidst the Burmese crisis, that is under the iron rule of Than Shwe, Christian missionaries contact Rambo known for his surviving skills. They request him to escort them to Burma on a humanitarian mission. However, the missionaries are attacked and held captive by the Burmese army after Rambo bids farewell to them. On learning this, Rambo is on a mission to rescue the captives from the hands of the Burmese army. This movie received mixed reviews.

The upcoming Rambo project will be fifth in line since the series began in 1982 with ‘First Blood’. It would presumably be the final one in the series which makes it worth waiting for. The movie will be shot in Bulgaria, London, Spain, and the Spanish Canary Islands. The film is scheduled to be released in 2019. With great action and acting skills by Stallone coupled with an amazing script and crisp direction, there are high chances that the movie might become a major box office hit.
