TCS Teams up with Transamerica to Transform US Insurance & Annuity Biz

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has now signed an agreement with Transamerica to transform the administration of its US insurance and annuity business lines. And accordingly, TCS has already hired and sent more than 200 new techies to Little Rock, Arkansas.

As part of the multi-year agreement with Transamerica TCS will now occupy several floors of the 1400 Centerview Building in downtown Little Rock. TCS has actually recruited more than 200 former Transamerica employees to work for TCS at this Little Rock facility. Interestingly, TCS has committed to recruit and protect more than 2,200 Transamerica jobs across the US in multiple locations. TCS will work towards rapidly enhancing Transamerica’s digital capabilities, simplifying the service of more than 10 million policies into an integrated modern platform, and driving growth opportunities through superior customer service, top company officials said.

TCS will now start using the Little Rock office of Transamerica as the former’s new US business center, over and above its existing office in Bentonville, Arkansas, which accommodates more than 150 employees. TCS will also add Little Rock facility to its flagship goIT education program and make whatever investment is necessary for that. TCS’ goIT initiative has already been inspiring the underserved youths to explore various new avenues like app development, design thinking, and technology careers for the past four years in the state. Besides, TCS and Learning Blade had earlier teamed up in 2016 to bring Computer Science online courses statewide to schools in Arkansas. This particular program also proposes to inspire students to take up various tech careers across sectors in partnership with the state government and the Arkansas Public School Resource Center (APSRC).

If things move the way, it has been envisaged, TCS will also bring its ambitious ‘Ignite My Future in School’ program to Arkansas, offering free professional development and resources for educators to integrate computational thinking. Nationally, Ignite My Future in School aims at reaching 20,000 educators and one million students over a five-year period.

Quite significantly, TCS has shelled out close to $3 billion in the US over the last three years and has been among the top two IT services job creators in the US. Mind you that TCS happens to be one of the US 50 most community-minded organizations, which engages nearly two million Americans through its extensive nationwide STEM education programs, academic partnerships and endowments to schools like Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell Tech and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
