Telegram Rolls Out a Fresh Wave of Features: Live Stories, Auctions, Automation & More

Telegram has pushed out a dynamic new update, packing a mix of creativity, convenience, and polish for its massive user base. The popular messaging platform now lets users broadcast Live Stories, giving creators, communities, and everyday users a vibrant new way to share real-time moments. These Live Stories interactive chats as viewers can drop comments, reactions, and support messages while watching the stream unfold.

Telegram confirms that Live Stories can be launched from personal accounts, groups, and channels, provided those channels have unlocked Story posting through boosts. The streaming experience feels fluid and immersive, resembling a blend of group calls and video chats.

Viewers can also highlight their messages using Telegram Stars, allowing creators to quickly spot their support is a sea of chats.

Privacy remains a central pillar in this rollout. Users can decide who sees their Live Stories by choosing between four modes: Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, or Selected Users. For creators using professional tools, Live Stories also supports RTMP keys, allowing seamless integration with broadcasting apps such as OBS or XSplit. This means streamers can use their existing equipment while going live on Telegram without reconfiguring their workflow.

Another significant upgrade is the enhancement of scheduled messages and reminders. Users can now configure them to repeat at intervals, daily, weekly, or even twice a month, making Telegram a subtle but powerful automation tool. Whether it's a a recurring task, a project deadline, or a gentle nudge to stay organised, the feature is activated simply by holding the send button, selecting Repeat, and choosing your preferred frequency.

Telegram has also expanded its growing ecosystem of digital collectables with a revamped Gifts system. These items, which can be displayed in statuses grouped into curated collections, can also be moved to a blockchain-based wallet for long-term safekeeping. They are fully tradable in Telegram’s marketplace. To address the recurring issue of limited-edition gifts selling out within seconds, the company is switching to an auction-based release system. New gifts will appear in multiple rounds, giving users time to place bids using Stars and ensuring a more transparent and equitable distribution.

Alongside functional upgrades, Telegram has also given its mobile apps a fresh aesthetic lift. iOS users will notice an expanded Liquid Glass interface aligned with the design language of iOS 26. Profiles have been redesigned, the Settings menu looks more refined, and the attachment panel has been polished for smoother navigation. Android users aren’t left out either; the platform now offers a cleaner input field and enhanced blur effects that add a soft, modern feel to the UI.

With these updates, Telegram continues to evolve into an increasingly versatile, creator-friendly, and visually appealing communication hub, balancing both power and simplicity for users worldwide.
