The Boat Shaped Formation Could Be The Fossil of Noah’s Ark, Say Researchers

Researchers have found a boat-shaped mound in Turkey's famous Durupinar Formation. Experts believe they have found the fossil of Noah's Ark. It is believed that this mound was submerged under water 5,000 years ago due to a flood.

The research team has been working on the site since 2021, hoping to confirm that it is the fossil of a massive, well-preserved vessel.

Investigations are still ongoing to ascertain whether the remains are indeed connected to the ark.

Though the discovery is still new, it has generated a lot of buzz in different circles, including both those who believe and those who don't believe in the existence of Noah's Ark.

The huge formation is composed of limonite, an ore of iron. It is located approximately 20 miles south of Mount Ararat’s summit in Turkey. According to the Bible, the arc measured “a length of three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits" and " the ark rested … upon the mountains of Ararat.”

Soil samples contain traces of clay-like substances, marine deposits, and seafood remnants, which date back to the period when the biblical floods are believed to have happened.

“According to the initial results, it’s believed there were human activities in this region since the Chalcolithic period,” professor Faruk Kaya, a lead researcher on the subject, told The Jerusalem Post.

Marine deposits and seafood remnants have pushed researchers to believe that the place was once filled with water.

“Our studies show that this region harbored life in that period and that, at some point, it was covered by water, which reinforces the possibility that a catastrophic event of great magnitude occurred,” the researchers stated.

The existence of Noah's Ark has been widely debated in many circles; however, as investigations continue, the increasing evidence points to the biblical account being accurate.
