Tourists attacked in broad daylight, car windows smashed, netizens claim, road travel to Karnataka unsafe.
Road rages in Bengaluru have become common sparking a new series of debates and concerts over road safety. A new case has come to light when tourists were attacked and robbed in broad daylight. The tourists had come to Virajpet and Coorg. It is reported that the burglars had stopped the car and then smashed the car windows through iron rods.
An X page claimed “Beware, car owners traveling in the ghat ranges of Karnataka. On the Virajpet-Makutt Road, an attempted robbery occurred last night. Two individuals returning from Kerala were targeted by robbers who blocked their car, smashed the rear windshield with a rod, and attempted to rob them.”
A video was also widely circulated which created an awareness among the people. In the video, a car belonging to Kerela is seen in the video being smashed and being attempted to rob. A person claimed “In the night, robbers targeted this Kerala registered car with tourists and stopped them. With iron rods, they smashed the car and tried to steal things from inside. This is a targeted attack.”
The tourists were stopped in mid-forest where they tried to break the car entirely but could only manage to smash the car's rear window. Many users of X have been claiming that the road has become quite unsafe and such incidents are quite frequent to happen.
