The dazzling cast of Joker: Folie a Deux made their presence felt on the red carpet at the happening Venice Film Festival. Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie a Deux is one of the most anticipated films this year.

At the festival, Joaquin Phoenix was captured wearing a tuxedo and sunglasses. Lady Gaga made an appearance on the red carpet in a Dior black gown, with her gothic headpiece being the star attraction. Giving her company on the red carpet was her husband Michael Polansky. The singer was proudly flashing her one million dollar ring on her finger.
The world premiere opened to a positive response from the audience. The movie received a 12 minute standing ovation while the audience kept yelling the names of Gaga and Joaquin continuously. Todd Phillips was prominently seated with both the actors among the audience.
During a press conference, Gaga said that she wouldn’t call the drama really musical. She disclosed that in the process of working in the film, she had to unlearn a lot of techniques
Joaquin Phoenix will be reprising his role as Arthur Fleck/Joker while Lady Gaga plays his love interest Harley Quinn.
Though the first Joker did extremely well, with Phoenix winning the Oscar for best actor, it is left to be seen whether the sequel can create the same magic.
The movie is currently receiving mixed reviews. Despite the varied critical reception, Joaquin’s commendable performance has been highly praised. Lady Gaga’s acting flair has been well received, but there are few who believe that her acting skills could have been utilised better.
The supporting cast of the psychological thriller include Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey. Zazie Beetz will reprise the role of Sophie.
Joker: Folie a Deux is all set to hit theatres on October 4.
