The Royal Family Releases 4 Attractive Photos to Officially Mark Prince Louis’ Christening

The official christening portraits of Prince Louis Arthur Charles are out and they look amazing. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released four official photographs to mark the christening of their royal son- Prince Louis.

The proud parents Prince William and Kate Middleton chose Matt Holyoak, one of the world’s leading Portrait Photographers to click photographs on this auspicious occasion. Prince Williams and Kate Middleton were beaming with joy at the event and it reflects in these newly released photographs. The photographs were taken in the Morning Room at Clarence House which is Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s official residence. There are four photographs in particular that are striking and bear certain resemblances and differences with Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s christening photos.

The first photo features parents William and Kate with their children, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Prince Charles and Camilla, and Kate’s family which includes Carole and Michael Middleton, James Middleton, Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews.

The second photo includes only the Royal family members, the third photo focuses on Kate, Williams along with their three kids, and the last photo focuses only on the mother and son duo where Kate is delightfully gazing at her bundle of joy.

The Royal little Prince who was born on April 23 was christened at the Chapel Royal in St. James Palace in London. In the photo, Prince Louis is seen wearing a long silk and lace robe that almost touches the floor. The robe is a handmade replica of the 1841 Royal Christening robe which was adorned by 62 babies that includes Prince Charles, Prince Williams, and Prince Harry. In 2008, Queen Elizabeth decided to make a replica of the gown in order to preserve the older version.

The christening ceremony of the Royal Prince was more of a private affair. The well-known faces that were spotted at the ceremony were Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews. After the christening ceremony, the royal guests gathered at Clarence House for afternoon tea that was hosted by Prince Williams and Kate Middleton. As per tradition, the guests were also served slices of cake from a tier of William and Kate’s wedding cake which was held way back in 2011.

The two people who were conspicuously missing from the ceremony and the photographs was none other than Prince Louis’s great-grandparents- the Queen and Prince Philip. The Queen had traveled to London while Prince Philip had stayed behind in Norfolk.  The baby’s godparents were present for the occasion. Photographer Matt Holyoak had these words to say on the joyful event, “I was truly honored at being asked to take the official photographs at the christening of Prince Louis and to witness at first hand such a happy event. Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs.”
