The Royal Love Story Makes It to Silver Screen

The romance between Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle is going to be a film. The premiere of the TV Movie, which is expected to be released on May this year, while the couple takes their vows of marriage.

A movie star meets a charming prince in a public gathering and immediately feels a connected, but the pair realised the feeling as love while exploring the globe together. The turn of events and the real life love story of 35 years old Prince Harry and 36 years old Meghan Markle will be the subject of the film produced by Lifetime TV.

Named as Harry and Meghan: The Royal Love Story, the movie is going to reveal the story behind the Prince's relationship with the American actress, including their first meeting and the moment he popped the question at their cottage in Kensington Palace. Although a release date of the film is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to coincide with the couple's wedding in May.

The film will also portray the lives of both the Prince and the Suits actress ahead of their meeting, before detailing their meeting through a mutual friend. The film will also follow the story of the couple’s secret romance ending up confirming their relationship publicly at the end of 2016 and subsequently announced their engagement in November 2017, garnering intense media attention. 

It is in the month of November 2016 Harry first confirmed their romance after he released a statement asking for his girlfriend's privacy to be respected amidst rumors of their romance. 

Just weeks later the Prince visited the American actress on set of Toronto-based legal drama Suits, before the couple were first sighted together in London during December 2016 and thereafter they were seen together in various occasion in 2017, after the November announcement of their engagement they publicly appeared together spending Christmas with the Queen at Sandringham. 

The news of Lifetime TV's new film has surfaced after it was reported that Meghan's ex-husband and film producer Trevor Engelson is also making a show, which relates the story of Meghan. The show is about a divorced American lady who later moves to London marrying a British royal.   

The Lifetime TV channel's previous film William & Kate: The Movie, based on the romance between Prince William and Kate Middleton, aired 11 days before their wedding on the 29th April 2011. The film depicted their relationship, which started when they were both students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

On January 14, the Life Time TV has first announced the making of the film Harry and Meghan: The Royal Love Story, revealing that the film will dramatize the Harry’s and Meghan’s love story surrounding their relationship and Meghan’s life as a divorced American actress.

The movie named Harry and Meghan: The Royal Love Story is currently said to be in the casting stage, The Royals director Menhaj Huda has been named as the director of the film, while Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss will be the executive producers. The script of the movie is written by Scarlett Lacey. Other casting information is yet to be shared publicly.

Though from different sources it is revealed that actress Parisa Fitz-Henley will be cast as Meghan Markle, Murray Fraser as Prince Harry, Bonnie Soper as his late mother Lady Diana, and Maggie Sullivun as Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile Lifetime has crowned Australian Burgess Abernethy (H20: Just Add Water) and Laura Mitchell (Menendez: Blood Brothers) to portray Prince William and Kate Middleton, respectively, in its new feature Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance, the network announced Thursday.

Young actors Preston Karwat and Briella Weintraub will fill the roles of Willam and Kate’s children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The films on Royals have launched successfully various actor and actress in the past. As William & Kate: The Movie, has helped in the launch of the careers of actresses like Louise Linton, wife of treasury secretary Steven Mnuchin.

The Production of the movie is already underway in Vancouver with eyes on a spring debut of film on the Lifetime of the most sought after Royals. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018 at St George's Chapel of Windsor Castle in England.
