The Teaser of ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ is out and It Promises to be an Action Comedy

The trailer of ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ has released and by the look of it, the movie promises to be an action-packed comedy.  Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon and Sam Heughan star in the movie. Here’s more.

The official trailer of ‘The Spy who dumped me’ that released on Wednesday introduces prominent characters, Mila Kunis as Audrey and Kate McKinnon as Morgan. The trailer begins with the proclamation line “In 2018, women are killing it” which indicates that this film is likely to be women-centric. The duo is initially seen absconding in a car which has been forcefully taken from an old couple. However, they are struggling to drive the car as it has a stick shift. This scene especially is hilarious as the owner is walking as fast as the car, beside them, while the pair is struggling to get away.

Plot of the movie

Looks like Kunis and McKinnon are best of friends who somehow get entrapped in a deadly conspiracy when Kunis’s ex-boyfriend Justin Theroux shows up at her apartment with a bunch of assassins. Justin tells Kunis “Some bad people are after me and now they are after you.” Kunis comes to know that her boyfriend who dumped her was a spy and this shocking news takes her by surprise. Amidst all the confusion, Kunis questions “Why this is happening?” to which McKinnon replies “I don’t know, cause you dated a spy.”

Kunis pays a heavy price for dating an ex-spy.  As a result, her best friend- McKinnon is innocently dragged into the mess.  Together they encounter some deadly situations and looks like they overcome most of the challenges. The trailer shows some high speed car chase, a helicopter flight and McKinnon is forced to hide some important information when she swallows a flash drive.

These deadly encounters also make them professionals as they are simultaneously honing their secret agent skills. The duo seems to be gaining confidence until they get captured by a potential enemy.  Mckinnon is kicked painfully on her face by the enemy post which McKinnon says “I’ll tell you anything you want to know.” They start spilling the beans thereafter.

The comic timing of the pair is fabulous. The movie promises to be a roller-coaster ride with some amazing comedy and gripping action sequels. The movie is directed and co-written by Susanna Fogel. This Lionsgate film also stars Hasan Minhay, Ivanna Sakhno and Gillian Anderson.
