The Viral Video of Marta Gonzalez Shows That Music Has Healing Powers

Alzheimer’s is one such disease that many of us dread to become victims to.

The common but debilitating symptoms include changes in memory, thinking, behaviour, emotions and your overall personality.

A video showing a former ballerina artist suffering from Alzheimer’s and remembering her dance moves after listening to music is truly profound.

The lady in the video is Marta C Gonzalez who passed away in 2019.

One can see Marta sitting in a wheelchair at a care home in Valencia and her caregiver makes her listen to Tschaikovsky's Swan Lake.

Observe her reaction after she listens to the music…

She remembers the choreography to the song she danced to in 1967. This touching video just goes to prove music has miraculous healing powers.

The video was shared by former basket ball player Rex Chapman who wrote, “Break out the tissues. NYC Prima Ballerina Marta C. Gonzalez Valencia suffers from Alzheimer’s. She listens to Swan Lake and it all comes back to her...”

Marta C Gonzalez was said to be one of the best ballerinas who was with New York’s Prima Ballerina in the 1960s.

The video has garnered more than 7 million views on the microblogging site.

Here are some of the reactions:
