There are Good Reasons Why Elton John will be Performing for the Nearing Royal Wedding
Diana's close friend Elton John may sing 'Candle in the wind' at the occasion.
As per reports, Elton John will be performing for the big Royal Wedding that is going to be held tomorrow. As of now, it is not clear whether he’ll be playing for the church ceremony or if he would perform a bit later during the reception. Here’s more.
Elton John’s fans will certainly be ecstatic to know that the ‘Candle in the wind’ singer is apparently gearing up to perform at the Royal wedding tomorrow. As per TMZ reports, Elton John was scheduled to perform at two shows at Vegas this weekend, that said, he changed his schedule a couple of months back to create time for the wedding. As of now, there are no official reports confirming this news from the Kensington palace though.
It hasn’t been confirmed what song the singer would be singing, albeit there are high chances that the ‘Candle in the wind’ song would definitely be sung as a tribute to Princess Diana on this special occasion. As we know it, Prince Harry doesn’t leave any stone unturned in honoring his mother, especially when it comes to milestones he’s achieved in life. Even during the engagement, Markle wore her engagement ring that had beautiful precious stones that were from Diana’s Jewellery’s collection.
Coming to John, the singer may perform at the church ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday morning or probably at the reception to be held at Frogmore house in the evening.
Elton John’s close ties with the ‘Royal family’
When Princess Diana passed away in 1997 in that fateful car crash, Elton John honored her at her funeral by singing ‘Candle in the wind’- a song which he re-wrote and re-recorded only for her. Elton John was a close friend to Princess Diana and after she passed away, he maintained close ties with Diana’s sons. He was also there with his partner- David Furnish when Prince William married Kate Middleton in 2011. John told ITV earlier this year, "Both of those boys are very special to me because of their mother.
In a previous interview, John spoke about Harry’s relationship with Markle and how happy they were as a couple. When John saw Harry in Sicily he said “I could tell that he was totally in love. He didn't really discuss much personally but he said 'I'm in love' and I thought 'good for you.' Both of those boys seem to be ecstatically happy and that's all you want people to be."
