Three for Raphinha! Barcelona Storm Past Racing Santander 7-2

Barcelona continued their remarkable start to the season with a commanding 7-2 victory over Racing Santander, but the night belonged to Raphinha. The Brazilian forward scored a hat-trick, including two penalties, as Hansi Flick’s side maintained its perfect run and strengthened its position at the top of LaLiga.

The goal also underlined Raphinha’s growing influence in Barcelona’s attack. His movement, confidence from the penalty spot and ability to arrive in dangerous positions gave Racing constant problems throughout the match.

Barcelona continued to threaten as the game entered its final stages. Gabriel Jesus added another goal to the scoreline, while Lamine Yamal also found the net after a brilliant attacking move involving Adeyemi.

Although Barcelona’s attacking display was outstanding, the two goals conceded will offer Flick some points to address. Defensive lapses allowed Racing to score twice, while Szczęsny’s mistake gave the visitors a brief opportunity to return to the contest.

Barcelona’s ability to score freely has so far covered those defensive shortcomings. However, tougher opponents could punish such errors more severely, making defensive consistency an important focus for the team moving forward.

With the victory, Barcelona moved to 18 points from six league matches, maintaining their position at the top of the table. Their perfect record has been powered by a combination of quick attacking transitions, high pressing and impressive individual performances.

Raphinha’s hat-trick was the headline moment against Racing Santander, but Cancelo, Yamal, Gabriel Jesus, Adeyemi and Dani Olmo also played important roles in another entertaining Barcelona performance.
