Tokyo Olympics Day 15 Updates: Bajrang Punia is Now Set for Bronze, Britain Won Gold at Women's Madison

Bajrang Punia lost 5-12 against Haji Aliyev of Azerbaijan in the men's 65kg wrestling semi-final, and will fight for the bronze medal. Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald of Britain won a gold medal at the women's madison at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Wrestling: Bajrang Punia Failed in Men's Freestyle

India's Bajrang Punia lost 5-12 to Azerbaijan's Haji Aliyev in the men's 65kg final and will now play in the bronze medal with Russia's Gadzhimurad Rashidov. Earlier Punia was impressed as she passed Morteza Ghiasi of Iran by falling in her quarterfinal battle. On the other hand, runner Seema Bisla lost to Tunisia's Sarra Hamdi 1-3 in the women's 50kg freestyle 1/8 final. Hamdi lost his quarter final battle, shattering Seema's hopes of entering a restructuring. Skipper Hollie Pearne Webb scored Great Britain's equalizer after India took a 3-2 lead at half-time. Grace Balsdon scored the fourth goal, which brought victory to Great Britain.

Modern Pentathlon: Britain's French Wins Gold

Britain's Kate French has won a gold medal in the modern women's pentathlon at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Lithuanian Laura Asadauskaite took silver and Hungary's Sarolta Kovacs achieved bronze.

Wrestling: Russian Sidakov Became Winner of Men's Freestyle Welterweight

Russian Zaurbek Sidakov won gold in the men's freestyle welterweight division in the Tokyo Olympics. Mohamed Khabib Kadzimahamedau of Belarus won silver and Kyle Dake of America and Bekzod Abdurakhmonov of Uzbekistan won bronze medals.

Women’s Hockey: India Failed in Bronze Medal Match to Great Britain:

India lost 3-4 bronze medal matches against Great Britain in women's hockey. While goalkeeper Savita was the team's star in the first quarter, saving two penalty kicks, and three field goals, Gurjit Kaur came to the party in the second quarter. Great Britain scored two quick goals early in the second quarter, but Gurjit allowed India to bounce back from a bang. Vandana Katariya added a third goal as India took the lead. Hollie Pearne-Webb scored the equalizer in the third quarter. Grace Balsdon scored in the penalty area in the fourth quarter.

Cycling: Netherland's Harrie Lavreysen Wins Gold at Men's Sprint

Harrie Lavreysen from the Netherlands won a gold medal in the men's Olympic race at the Izu Velodrome on Friday. Jeffrey Hoogland took the silver medal and Jack Carlin of Britain beat Denis Dmitriev of Russia with a bronze.

Cycling: Britain Wins in Women's Madison

Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald of Britain received a gold medal at the women's  madison of Olympics 2020 at the Izu Velodrome. Denmark won a silver medal and a bronze medal for the Russian Olympic Committee.

Beach Volleyball: American Ross and Klineman Beat Australia for Gold

April Ross and Alix Klineman won the first United States Olympic gold medal in women's volleyball at sea since 2012, when they beat Mariafe Artacho del Solar of Australia and Taliqua Clancy of Australia at the Tokyo Games.
