Top Irish Model Alli MacDonnell Suddenly Dies after Posting a Mysterious Message on Social Media

A top Irish model Alli MacDonnell, 37, has been found dead just hours after she posted a mysterious social media post which was laced with profanity. The shocking news of her death came after she posted these lines on social media, “Why is it ok for a man to call a girl a fat ugly ****?????? Seriously new level of pushing someone to the edge."

Alli MacDonnell who is a mother of four was one of Ireland’s top models. She was signed up with the Andrea Roche's AR Model Agency. Circulating reports suggest that the model was trolled including being bombarded with several abusive messages. As she posted the aforementioned lines on Facebook, followers began posting words of support. They told her that the fault lies with the person who is abusing her. Unfortunately the words of love, support and encouragement turned to condolence messages as the beautiful model died suddenly. The police are closely looking into her death. Some reports suggest that the model took her own life.

The model’s death has rocked the fashion circles in Ireland. Model and actress Vivienne Connolly said she was “devastated”. Miss Ireland boss Sean Montague posted a photo of the model with the words, “No words.RIP.” Deric Hartigan from TV3 posted, “To a beautiful person inside & out. Shared so many laughs with this gorgeous girl. Far too young to be taken away. Heaven has gained an angel. RIP Alli MacDonnell.”

Alli became a strong campaigner and voice for autism when her nine-year-old son Harry was diagnosed with Autism. The model campaigned extensively for the condition and raised awareness on the subject thus becoming an amazing ambassador for autism in Ireland. The gorgeous model was a single mother to Alex, 17, Sara, 15, Harry, 9, and Siena, 2. She described her children as her “world” on an Instagram page. She was known to be an amazing mother and a beautiful woman inside and out.

Alli MacDonnell’s death is an eye-opener to the fact that abusive trolls can affect a person psychologically to a great extent. We are not aware of Alli’s personal struggles. That said, striking a balance between work and home must have been quite a daunting task for a young single mom of four. In a live podcast at the Little Museum of Dublin, she opened about her struggles when she said, “I get up every morning I put one foot in front of the other . . .  from the moment I wake up in the morning it’s go, go, go until I fall into bed.” It was certainly not fair that a young woman who was juggling between home, a challenging work environment and a mother of a kid who had autism to have become a victim of hateful trolling.

There are high chances that if the perpetrator is caught, serious action will surely be taken against him as friends of the model have joined together demanding justice. People are raging with anger and posting messages on media saying that the perpetrator must pay heavily for this. There are others who are demanding that the law should make abusive trolling a punishable crime.

Alli MacDonnell’s case raises light on the fact that celebrities especially women are often victims of abusive trolling. Strict laws must be put in place to tackle abusive trollers to avoid cases such as Alli’s. We only hope that the perpetrator is caught soon enough to pay a heavy price for tormenting a good human being and being the root cause of her early death. RIP Alli MacDonnell.
