Top Winners of the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards 2021

The grand 63rd annual Grammy Awards was held in Los Angeles this Sunday. Trevor Noah from the famed “The Daily Show” was the host of the event. 

Big names from the music industry like Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, Harry Styles, and other top artists performed at the gala event. 

The big winners of the event were Taylor Swift (album of the year), Billie Eilish (record of the year), H.E.R. (song of the year), and Megan Thee Stallion (best new artist, best rap song, best rap performance).

The artist who grabbed everyone’s attention however was Beyonce after she won her 28th Grammy Award surpassing the record held earlier by Alison Krauss. “Queen Bey” won her 28th award for R&B performance for ‘Black Parade.’

‘Black Parade’ drew world-wide acclaim for its powerful lyrics which touched upon topics like black history and activism. 

“I've been working my whole life, since 9 years old”, Beyonce addressed the audience.

“I can't believe this happened. It's such a magical”, she added.

Dressed in a leather suit while still being shirtless, Harry Styles impressed audiences with ‘Watermelon Sugar.’ He later won the best solo pop performance for the same song. 

Taylor Swift sang a couple of songs from her album ‘Evermore’ and ‘Folklore. Swift looked captivating while singing seated on a green mossy hill slope. Tall trees and a cabin were also part of this beautiful green theme set. 

She took the album of the year for ‘Folklore’ which she created during the pandemic. This also makes her the first artist to win the award three times. She previously took the award for ‘Fearless’ and ‘1989’.

The Grammys also paid tribute to a rather long list of artists in the memoriam segment who lost their lives during the pandemic.
