Renowned TV journalist and senior anchor Rohit Sardana died of Covid followed by cardiac arrest on Friday, leaving everyone shocked and heartbroken. 

Rohit Sardana was working with Aaj Tak and anchored a popular show 'Dangal' that featured debates on current affairs. He earlier worked with Zee News, where he used to host the show 'Taal Thok Ke'. He was awarded the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Puraskar by the government in 2018.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and his parents. The 41-year-old TV Journalist had recently tested positive for Covid-19 but was active and on his way to recovery. Rohit continued to encourage his colleagues and was amplifying Covid-related posts on Twitter till late Thursday night.

PM Narendra Modi expressed his deepest condolences on Rohit's untimely demise. "Rohit Sardana left us too soon. Full of energy, passionate about India’s progress and a kind-hearted soul, Rohit will be missed by many people. His untimely demise has left a huge void in the media world. Condolences to his family, friends and admirers. Om Shanti."

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia also condoled the death of TV Journalist Sardana.

News director of Aaj Tak and India Today Rahul Kanwal said his newsroom was in "deep shock" and remembered Sardana as a "sharp young anchor" who never "flinched from asking questions".
