Trimble To Train Engineering & Construction Professionals In India

Sunnyvale (CA)-headquartered Trimble Solutions Corporation, formerly known as Tekla, which has customers in over 100 countries and offices in over 20 countries, besides a large global partner network, will now train and groom the next-generation of engineering and construction industry professionals in India. The training program will be conducted across India. That’s not all. The global construction technology leader, which, at present, has 16 Tekla Authorised Training Centers (ATC), has put up another ATC in Vijayawada, top company officials said. Tekla’s Authorized Training centers are now located in the prime locations across India, including Pune, Ahmedabad, Trichy, Kochi, Nashik, Bangalore, Aurangabad, Mysuru, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Vijayawada, Kerala and Gandhinagar. The company plans to extend its ATCs to 50 cities across India in the next 18-24 months.

Trimble Tekla currently runs education, training and certification programs for Tekla Structures and other cutting-edge software tools used by the global architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. The learning programs aim at building a pool of skilled and talented engineers and construction professionals that can eventually contribute to the ongoing transformation of the Indian construction industry. Interestingly, Trimble has so far trained and certified over 700 professionals in India through its ATCs, and aims to grow this number to 10,000 professionals by 2020.

“Through these various structured learning programs, our main objective is to not only bridge the gap between the demand and supply of well-trained Constructible BIM professionals in the industry, but also to create a steady supply of world-class talent that can help Indian construction industry embrace cutting-edge technologies and match their global counterparts. The tailored program and free access to professional software will further help students build promising careers in structural engineering and applications,” said Paul Wallett, regional director, Trimble India and Middle East.

Interestingly, the Indian construction industry is rapidly embracing technologies like Constructible BIM, 3D modeling and tech-enabled project management. Tekla ATCs train students in these essential tools and also equip them with conceptual designing and planning. Tekla helps the students of engineering colleges build their future career by equipping them with desired 3D structural modelling software for their learning and knowledge enhancement purposes. The Campus download allows the students to get their free license and immediately start learning upon registering on Tekla’s official website with their email id. The total number of student downloads have exceeded over 90,000 till date and this number continues to swell rapidly.

The Tekla Education program from Trimble offers to construction industry professionals the opportunity to learn best-in-class software including Tekla Structures; the world’s premier engineering and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software; Tekla Tedds and Tekla Structural Designer. The program also offers unlimited Tekla software licenses, learning content and free student licenses.
