Trump Celebrates Football Championship by Serving Fast Food to Athletes

After Clemson Tigers won the College Football Playoff National Championship recently, the White House has organised a reception to celebrate their victory by offering a fast food feast to the players. The food from McDonald’s and Chick fil were served by US President Donald Trump himself, who also joined them in the feast.

Donald Trump told the players comprising of college students, that he could have had the White House chef and prepare food for them, but he rather opted for orders from McDonald's and Chick fil, to repeat the same menu he offered Clemson, during the partial government shutdown a few months back.

Trump laughingly said, “I know you people. We like American companies”. Trump introduced the players by the “Bison” team nickname and joked that they told him, “Sir, make sure you say it with a Z”.

The Bison team, who has this feast in their honor during their Monday afternoon visit to the Capitol Hill with the full contingent of players, enjoyed much with the participation of the President himself.

After the visit Coach Matt Entz said, “We addressed politics, this is not a political trip, this is a Bison trip and personally, I sold it as two things: It’s one more opportunity for the 2018 team to be together, but also in my mind the start of the 2019 season and the things we’re going to do together”.

Matt Entz who was named the coach of the team last December, moving up from defensive coordinator when Chris Klieman was named head coach at Kansas State. After the brilliant performance of the team, North Dakota Senator John Hoeven (R) invited the team to Washington.

Entz said before the teams trip to White House, “We sold it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that we’re taking. I want to make this as great of an experience of being part of Bison football as possible”. Entz also added, “For me, personally, the No. 1 thing is just the team being together. It’s probably watching our players as they experience something that some of them probably have never been a part of before”.

Clemson Tigers or Clemson University Fighting Tigers, who represent the Clemson University in the American Football, won the championship in the Football Championship Subdivision this time. The Football Bowl Subdivision is the highest level of play for the largest schools in the United States.
