When it comes to the new wave of electric scooters, the TVS Orbiter has stirred conversations by sliding just under the significant one-lakh threshold. Priced at ₹99,900, it offers a tempting entry point into the EV universe, something that many cost-conscious customers have been anticipating as other scooters steadily increase in price.

By comparison, the Ather Rizta starts at a steeper ₹1.08 lakh and stretches up to ₹1.77 lakh, based on battery packs and premium features. Ather has never tried to be the cheapest; instead, it emphasizes its polished ownership experience, connected ecosystem, and a sense of exclusivity.

Meanwhile, Hero’s Vida V2X begins at ₹97,800, aligning closer to the Orbiter but carrying a slightly different philosophy. Vida has built its identity around a fusion of balanced range and youthful styling, attracting urban riders who value both practicality and aesthetics.

Ola’s S1X stands as the true affordability warrior, priced between ₹79,999 and ₹99,999. It has been Ola’s gateway EV, backed by massive brand recognition and relentless marketing. However, with the Orbiter entering at a similar bracket, customer preferences may undergo subtle recalibration.

Specification Face-Off

Beneath its stylish exterior, the Orbiter is equipped with a 3.1 kWh battery offering a claimed IDC range of 158 km, putting it in the comfort zone for daily commuters. Unique touches like a 14-inch front wheel, hill-hold assist, reverse mode, cruise control, and an impressive 169mm ground clearance elevate it above a bare-minimum product. Riders also benefit from an 845 mm flat-form seat and a capacious 34-litre boot, underlining TVS’s focus on practical comfort.

The Ather Rizta, however, continues to shine in refinement and connectivity. Offered with 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh battery options, it delivers 105-125 km of real-world range. Its strength lies not only in numbers but also in its app ecosystem, frequent updates, and strong dealership infrastructure.

Hero’s Vida V2X packs a 3.44 kWh battery, delivering about 110km of practical range. Features like removable batteries, multiple ride modes, and rapid charging contribute to its youthful appeal. Positioned between premium and affordable, it tries to bridge the gap through fresh design and steady reliability.

The Ola S1X, on the other hand, remains focused on entry-level buyers. With 2kWh and 3 kWh battery options offering 95-151 km, it balances usability with Ola’s expensive service network. While its feature list is modest, its ubiquity and market push keep it strongly visible.
