Twitter Handle ‘Parliament Fashion Alert’ Gives Us an Interesting Peek into Indian Politics Plus Fashion

There is no denying the fact that Indian politics has and will always be an integral part of our lives. They amuse us, inspire us and disappoint us too!  We focus so much on their actions, speeches, promises and policies but how often do we focus on their fashion sense. Rarely!!

In most cases, there’s nothing much to explore except the neatly pressed white khadi, cotton and silk kurtas. When it comes to our women politicians, the neatly draped cotton sarees coupled with big red bindis usually comes to our mind. I always believed that Indian politicians like to keep it sauve and simple.

There is however an account on Twitter that goes by the name – ‘Parliament Fashion Alert’ that is doing an amazing job in not just observing the manner Indian politicians adorn their classic clothes but also making it more interesting with its really witty captions. It is perhaps a new way of analyzing our favourite politicians.

I’ve picked my favourites from the ‘Parliament Fashion Alert’ platform.

It starts with the Gandhis of course.

North-East does have its own unique style. Lorho Pfoze from Manipur stands out in this embroidered jacket.

Gopal Jee Thakur from Bihar impresses in this yellow combo plus a matching headgear.

The trio from UP knows how to carry their sleek red topis.

Stole Style!

Our Vice President- Mr. Venkaiah Naidu i@ Peru.

Omar Abdullah impresses in a suit and the spectacles add a dash of intellectualism.

Purple jacket and mauve pocket combo.

And here comes our PM.

Punjabis like it bright.

Blast from the past.

After running through this Twitter handle, my old notion that Indian politicians like to keep it simple has finally changed.
