Uber Strengthens India Leadership

Uber, the world’s largest on-demand ride-sharing company, roped in Pavan Vaish as the new Head of Central Operations. Pavan is joining Uber with more than 25 years of experience in building global technology businesses and leading them.

Earlier, Pavan co-founded and served as the CEO of Daksh e-services, and was instrumental in growing it to a 40,000 people strong organization, while expanding its geographic footprint across Latam, Europe and Asia. Interestingly, Daksh is widely recognized as one of the most successful service acquisitions in the history of IBM. And it was Pavan, who spearheaded its integration with IBM.

Pradeep Parameswaran, President, Uber India & South Asia, Uber said that as they embark on their next wave of growth, they are building and strengthening a team of industry experts and veterans. These seasoned campaigners appreciate the impact of ridesharing and are committed towards innovation for a better tomorrow. They are delighted to have Pavan Vaish join Uber India as the head of central operations.

If one looks at Pavan’s career track record, he has always successfully created and built organizations that leave a legacy and has worked hard to create an inclusive, global culture within organizations over the years. As a true visionary among the BPO leaders, Pavan has all along been guiding the industry towards achieving competitive advantages beyond labor arbitrage and that too, long before the onset of commoditization of BPO services.

Pavan had also served as the Global Chief Operating Officer at UnitedLex, where his responsibility was to oversee daily business operations and manage its business objectives across various geographies. Pavan also spearheaded the transformation of IBM Global Process Services from an emerging enterprise into one of the largest and most respected companies in the Global BPO industry.
