UK Government Advises Couples to either Stay Together or Remain Apart

Amid the Coronavirus lockdown Britons are adapting and navigating their path to the new standards of living.

On Monday Prime Minister Boris Johnson has requested all Britons to stay at home to prevent further spread of the virus.

The rule involves banning gatherings of more than two people in public who do not live together. He’s urged people to remain 2 meters away from people outside their household. Now, this rule has raised questions concerning couples in relationships.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England- Jenny Harries was asked how this new rule would apply to couples in relationships amid the crisis.

Mrs. Jenny Harries said, “I'm clearly going to start a new career here in relationship counselling.”

The Brit government has requested everyone to follow these orders because if one person in the family has been infected by the virus then the other members of the family are equally at risk.

In such a scenario it makes a sense that couples who do not co-habit should avoid coming in contact to prevent the spread of the disease.

Jenny emphasized that this is the best time to test the strength of your relationship and analyze your feelings.

Jenny explained, “The alternative might be that for quite a significant period going forward they should just test the strength of their relationship ..test really carefully your strength of feeling.”

Health Minister Matt Hancock added, “Stay with the household either together or apart, but keep it that way while we go forward because otherwise, we will not all be working towards achieving our outcome.”

To sum it up couples who co-habit should remain together and the ones who are apart should remain distant till this tide is over.
