Ukrainian Beauty Queen Anastasiia Lenna Joins Fight against Russia

As tension mounts in the country of Ukraine, many celebrities are taking up guns to fight for their motherland.

One such person is Anastasiia Lenna; a former Miss Ukraine. 

Amidst the chaos and destruction, Anastasiia has decided to join the Ukrainian military forces thereby boosting the morale of others who are fighting in the war.

She represented Ukraine in the 2015 Miss Grand International beauty contest. The beauty queen has been regularly sharing stories concerning the situation in Ukraine on her Insta handle. 

She shared a photograph of herself where she’s seen adorning a military uniform and a gun that can be seen slung across her shoulders. 

She captioned the picture with these lines, “Miss supernational Ukraine 2016 Anastasiia Leena defending the freedom.”

She shared another photograph of Ukrainian President Zelensky walking with the soldiers and called him a “true and strong leader.”

Lenna is a marketing and management graduate from Slavistik University in Kyiv, Ukraine. She works as a public relations manager in Turkey.

She joins hundreds of other volunteers such as a man with a prosthetic leg and another couple who brought their wedding date forward from May to get married and join the military forces the next day. 

Reportedly over 31,000 women serve in Ukraine’s defense forces each of them hailing from different professions such as journalists, musicians, veterinarians, and so on. 

Model Anastasiia has smashed the common stereotype that beauty contestants are only about beauty. Anastasiia stands for more than that. Kudos to her fighting spirit!
