The Washington DC-based US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) has hailed its board member companies, Palo Alto, California-headquartered Varian Medical Systems and Tata Trusts on their agreement to provide advanced cancer care solutions in India.

With an estimated 1.8 million new cancer cases a year in India expected by 2025, Tata Trusts and Varian announced the signing of a framework agreement intended to increase patient access to advanced radiation therapy treatments in the country. The three-year agreement is focused on world-class cancer care delivery through the installation of radiation therapy treatment systems across India where Varian has been selected as the preferred supplier by Tata Trusts.

Dr. Mukesh Aghi, President & CEO said that this agreement is good for India as a whole—citizens will receive world-class technology from Varian, making a huge difference in the treatment options for cancer patients in the coming years. The agreement is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Ayushman Bharat of bringing world-class healthcare at affordable prices to the citizens of India. USISPF is proud to work with both Varian Medical Systems and the Tata Group as its member companies. They are pleased to have the leadership of Dow Wilson, President and CEO of Varian, and Dr. S Jaishankar, President of Global Corporate Affairs, Tata Group, on our Board of Directors and appreciate the substantial positive impact that they are making in India’s healthcare industry, he said.
