Woman Kills Neighbour’s Child in Order Please the Gods and to Conceive

In a shocking incident emerging from New Delhi’s Rohini area, a woman killed a neighbour’s 3-year-old son in a desperate attempt to conceive. 

According to the 25-year-old woman, she was under tremendous pressure from her in-laws who kept taunting her for not conceiving. Following this, she approached an occultist who advised her to sacrifice a child to please the gods. 

According to a senior police officer, Neelam Gupta who is a home-maker got married in 2013. Her husband is a vegetable vendor. She couldn’t conceive despite all her efforts. She then approached an occultist residing in her village in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi on whose advice she killed the child. 

A case was registered by the father of the missing three-year-old on Saturday. During the investigation with friends and relatives it was found that the boy was last seen with one of the neighbours, the father explained. 

Upon interrogation, Neelam was initially trying to mislead the police however at last she confessed that she worked upon her plan after seeing the boy all alone on the roof of the building. 

She killed him and pushed his body into a plastic bag and kept it on the roof of the building. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said, “During interrogation, the woman said she was under a lot of pressure to conceive and was taunted by her in-laws and society. Therefore, she approached an occultist in Hardoi four years back who suggested her to sacrifice a child if she wanted to conceive.”

“In sheer desperation to have a child of her own, she decided to kill her neighbour's son to make the almighty happy. As per the plan, on Saturday, when she found the child playing alone on the roof of the building, she went and killed him,” he said.

During the investigation, the police discovered a bag on the roof of the adjacent house. On opening the bag they found the child’s body with strangulation marks on his neck. 

The police officer said that the prima facie observation revealed that the boy was strangulated. The woman is arrested and is currently under police custody.
