Youngest Grand Master Winner: Gukesh Earned A World Championship

Gukesh was finding it hard and got emotionally swayed away when he was declared the world chess champion, right after the game, he was covered by the media channels in Singapore. There were many questions thrown at him but he managed to answer them swiftly until a couple asked him about his plans as he had already become the world champion.

Gukesh claimed to the media agencies “My goal is to play at the top level for the longest time possible. I have just started my journey. I want to have a very long career and to stay at the very top,” He also claimed that “Becoming the world champion does not mean I am the best player, obviously that is Magnus.”

He said that he would be motivated by the fact that he still has a superior player to play with. “That will help me keep doing the right things, working hard, and trying to reach the level of greatness that Magnus has achieved.”

He was also asked as to who he wanted to defeat next, the teammates he has been playing with or Carlsen. However, Carlsen has already said of winning the title 5 times and would not be playing the game. “I don’t rule out participation in the future, but I also wouldn’t count on it,”. Gukesh further added “Obviously playing against Magnus in a world championship would be amazing, it would be the toughest challenge there is in chess. I mean, it is up to Magnus, but I would love to test myself against the best player in the world.”
