Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao Share a Message for Followers after Separation

After announcing separation in a joint statement on Saturday, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao shared a message for their fans in a video.
During a virtual event of their NGO ‘Paani Foundation’, Aamir expressed that after hearing the news of their separation, fans must’ve been saddened and shocked.
He went on to explain that both Kiran and he are happy after taking this step and they’ll still remain a loving family.
‘Paani’ foundation is as dear to them as their son Azad. He urged followers to pray for their happiness in the road ahead.
The couple announced their divorce on Saturday through a joint statement that read, “In these 15 beautiful years together we have shared a lifetime of experiences, joy and laughter, and our relationship has only grown in trust, respect and love. Now we would like to begin a new chapter in our lives - no longer as husband and wife, but as co-parents and family for each other.”
“We began a planned separation some time ago, and now feel comfortable to formalise this arrangement, of living separately yet sharing our lives the way an extended family does. We remain devoted parents to our son Azad, who we will nurture and raise together,” they said.
Aamir and Kiran tied the knot in 2015. They met on the sets of Lagaan where Kiran was an assistant director to Ashutosh Gowariker.
The couple’s separation came as a shock to many fans. There were mixed reactions to the news. Many followers agreed that the couple set new standards by gracefully accepting their differences and handling the delicate situation with grace.
