IIT Bombay Placement: Only 75% Placed, Package Drops to 4LPA

IIT Bombay has been making the news for quite a long time because of the poor placement and packages offered to the students. This year, it witnessed a drop to 75 percent in placement and recorded the lowest package, around 4 LPA.

Close to 10 students have accepted job offers ranging from 4LPA to 6LPA. A total of 558 offers were made by 123 companies belonging to domestic and international operations. The compensation of these companies was more than 20 Lakhs. Another 230 offers were made whose salaries ranged from 16 LPA to 20 LPA. The recruitment figures rose by 7 percent, claimed the officials at IIT Bombay.

78 international offers were made and the highest salary was close to 1 Crore. The war between Ukraine and Russia was one of the stances for which international offers were quite high. Close to 300 odd job offers were made in phase 3. While some of the students also accepted PPOs and found roles of their own.

IIT Bombay is one of the prestigious colleges in India and is also ranked globally for the best engineering degree. Notable Alumni have been a part of the college. However, the drop in the number of placements and reduction in the payscale is quite challenging which can impact the reputation.
