Radhika Apte Says “It’s A Great Feeling to Be Appreciated for Your Efforts”

Actress Radhika Apte is having a blast as we are aware that the actress bagged an International Emmy nomination for best actress for her performance in Netflix ‘Lust Stories’. It seems that the actress is on a roll as not only did she receive an Emmy nomination, the two projects that she’s a part of- ‘Sacred Games’ and ‘Lust Stories’ have bagged Emmy nominations for Best Drama and Best Mini-Series respectively. 

This being a proud moment for Indian Television and Indian cinema, directors like Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap tweeted on this news. 

Speaking about her nomination Apte told news agency IANS, “It's a great feeling to be appreciated for your efforts and also I'm thrilled that Indian content is at par with today's world television.” She added “The new digital platforms have made it possible for us to better our content and have given us the platform to put it up. I'm absolutely thrilled that both Sacred Games and Lust Stories are nominated.”

Over the years Apte set high benchmarks when it came to her acting skills. She didn’t play it safe and took up offbeat projects at regular intervals. Most of the projects that she’s worked upon have a meaningful message to send across to society. Besides doing extremely well in Indian movies, she ventured globally. Her performance in ‘The Wedding Guest’ and ‘The Ashram’ is also noteworthy. 

Her first film was a Konkani Marathi film called ‘Gho Mala Asla Hava’ which till date is her favourite and the journey has been long, fruitful and many a times challenging. In fact, she recently admitted in an interview with ScoopWhoop that she was kicked out of a film just because she was fat. She requested the team that she would lose weight as there were still two months’ time to start shooting however they didn’t pay heed. That is the past and fortunately, the ‘Parched’ actress is not in that space anymore.

Thanks to her strong acting skills, bold personality and not sticking to a specific set of rules has worked completely in her favour. Her work has not only taken the actress to places albeit she’s made India shine on various global platforms. The actress is clearly driven and we can expect a lot more entertainment coming our way in the years to come.
