Tokyo Olympics Day 10 Updates: Sindhu Achieves Bronze, Greece's Miltiadis Tentoglou Wins Gold in Men's Long Jump

  • Sindhu: India's first Female Double Olympic Medallist

PV Sindhu defeated China's He Bing Jiao to win a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. The shuttler became India's first woman to win two Olympic medals. Sindhu lost in the 18-21, 12-21 semi-finals and took China's He Bing Jiao to the bronze medal in today's bronze medal. She defeated He Bing Jiao 21-13 and 21-15. 

  • Men's Long Jump: Gold to Greece

Miltiadis Tentoglou won gold in Greece for his final attempt at the men's long jump at the Tokyo Olympics. He jumped 8.41m and was followed by Juan Miguel Echeverria of Cuba in 8.41m and Maykel Masso. Tentoglou changed laps in the first few rounds and missed a few attempts, but it was round 6 where he jumped the most to 8.41m, enough to drop the Cuban star to second place.

  • Women's Hockey: Argentina in the Semi Finals

Argentina are the first team to reach the semi-finals of the tournament after beating Germany 3-0 in the first quarterfinals today. India faces Australia in the second QF at 8:30 am IST today creating history by defeating world No. 2 Australia 1-0 and to make it to the semi final for the first time.

  • Women's 100m Barriers: Puerto Rico vs USA

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico wins the women's 100m Gold in a time of 12.37 seconds. In Rio, he was released from the semis. Silver goes to Kendra Harrison of the USA, Bronze to Megan Tapper of Jamaica. Jasmine Camacho-Quinn finished in 12.37 seconds with a 15th run in the second 100m women's world record, Kendra Harrison. Jamaica's Megan Tapper finished in third place.

  • Men's High Jump: Qatar's Barshim and Italy's Tamberi share gold

The shared gold came when Mutaz Barshim of Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy clashed at a distance of 2.37 meters in Tokyo. Qatar's Mutaz Barshim and Italy's Gianmarco Tamberi have a nightmare of serious back injuries in order to share the extraordinary Olympic gold medal in the high jump. Both Barshim, 30, and 29-year-old Tamberi were unsuccessful until they tried to clear the 2.39-meter mark. After failing three times each in 2.39, they were eventually arrested and entered into negotiations with an Olympic official, who initially gave them a "jump-off" to decide the matter.
