Vero the Anti-Facebook,Taking Away Instagrammers

Instagram hater crowd is signing up for Vero, True Social. It has crossed 1 million members in a few week. Currently offering free subscriptions.

Vero designed as a Social Media Platform which is a photo sharing platform with hashtags along with more options like current activities and private chat facility.

Pretty similar like Instagram compared to Hashtags, but complex than Instagram. This is anti-Facebook, so currently user has no option to share any post which will connect through Facebook or Instagram.

Even few days ago the app was having very low ratings, but recently with the huge number of sign ups it ranked as one of the top Apps.

The maximum reason of Instagram members dropping out the app is the advertisement. Users have also been annoyed by changes to the app's algorithm, which now highlights posts that have more likes, comments and shares, instead of showing them in chronological order.

Vero is currently an ad-free platform and sort posts in reverse chronological order. Many artists, celebrities are joining it and sharing the profile links on Facebook and Instagram with their followers.

What is Vero?

It was launched back in 2015 by Ayman Hariri, a billionaire businessman and son of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

In an interview with CNBC, Mr Hariri said he started the app because he was frustrated with how many adverts appear on sites like Twitter and Facebook. [Source:BBC News]

Recently Vero has crossed 500,000 downloads and 10,000+ positive reviews in Google Play store and the number of downloads are rapidly rising in App store.

User-end Issues:

Users are getting many issues due to large number of demand. Starting from singing up to creating profile or sharing any post, Vero has become slow, unresponsive. For which Vero has apologized publicly in Twitter. Currently internal Vero team is working on the large demand of the app to make it more user friendly. It might take over Instagram in a year.
