#SareeTwitter is Trending in India as Women Share Their Graceful Saree Pictures

As this week started, many of us might have been pleasantly surprised to see the hashtag #SareeTwitter trending on the microblogging website. The following days the site had been flooded with posts from people sharing their favourite saree pictures using the hashtag. As the #SareeTwitter continues to trend, celebrities and politicians too have joined the fun and are sharing their own pictures in their favourite sarees.


Internet can be the only inventor of the best trends that are going online, which everyone is witnessing this week, as #SareeTwitter took social media by storm. Apart from celebrities and politicians, common people have also joined the online trend and everyone is sharing their pictures in saree. Twitter is now filled with the most stunning images in the Indian traditional attire.


Even Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took to her official Twitter account to share a picture of her in a saree. She shared the photo with the caption, “Morning puja on the day of my wedding (22 years ago!) #SareeTwitter”.



Priyanka Gandhi looked beautiful, looking away shyly in the picture that she shared. Once she posted the picture online, it immediately went viral and at the time of writing the article, the picture has already reached nearly 4k retweets and 40k likes.


Shiv Sena politician Priyanka Chaturvedi shared not one, but four pictures of her in the traditional garment.


Bollywood actress Yami Gautam too posted a beautiful image of her in a saree saying that nothing can match its elegance and beauty. She posted her saree picture with the post “I completely agree with this trend, nothing can match the elegance and beauty of a saree! So sharing my most special saree moment #SareeTwitter”. 




Actress turned politician Nagma also posted her saree image, wearing a yellow saree and saying that the saree depicts Indian tradition and culture. She posted her saree picture with the caption “Saree depicts our Indian tradition and culture. It is also supposed to be known as our sexiest costume. One looks dignified, beautiful, elegant, graceful and yet can seem very appealing in it #SareeTwitter”


Other women also took to Twitter not only to appreciate the celebrity and politician’s image but also to share more pictures of them wearing a sari.

After Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Yami Gautam now it is Article 15 actor Ayushmann Khurana has also joined the trend. The 34-year-old actor took to Twitter to post a picture of him wearing a saree. Interestingly, the picture is a still from his upcoming film ‘Dream Girl’. Ayushmann shared the photo with a caption saying, “#Dreamgirl later this year. Sigh. #SareeTwitter”.



The movie Dream Girl also stars Nushrat Bharucha, is written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures. Ayushmann, who is known for playing versatile characters, is portraying the role of a man who dresses up as women characters like Sita, Draupadi and Radha in the film ‘Dream Girl’.
