Actor Shardul Kunal Pandit Advises Aspiring Actors to Go Back Home if Everything Fails

The ongoing pandemic has hit the entertainment industry big time. Numerous stories of struggle of aspiring artists are gradually emerging on the internet, leaving us in a state of shock.

One such story is that of Shardul Kunal Pandit- an aspiring actor. He spoke to Times of India and revealed that he has returned to Indore, back to his hometown as he was financially struggling.

He also took to Instagram requesting directors for projects. “I'm not connected to the biggest agencies or managers... This is my last shot to reach everyone, who probably has work where I fit in with my skill set... I have a house to run for which I'm ready to accept any role,” he wrote.

He further added, “I could have succumbed to pressure but I was lucky had friends who held me when I could have tripped. Please don't give up. Go home if everything fails.”

What is interesting in Shardul’s enduring story is that he’s battling depression. “I slipped into depression following a string of rejections, failures, and friends alienating me. I consulted a therapist in last November and surrounded myself with friends like Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava, who stood by me... However, I am still not out of it. I am still seeking help and maybe, being home with my parents would help me fight it,” he said.

One of the best pointers in Shardul’s post is that he has earnestly requested artists to return home if they are not able to survive the tough and challenging environment of the entertainment industry.  This is absolutely true!

Rather than getting depressed about the current circumstances that can’t be changed, especially keeping in mind the current situation, it is only advisable to get back home. There certainly would be other opportunities that could propel your career in a different direction.

We are sure that Shardul’s post will resonate with many aspiring stars and would give them the courage to take the right step of reaching out to their families and friends rather than destroying their mental peace. It is brave of Shardul to have come up with his story of personal struggle and share it with the world with the hope of bringing a change in people’s lives especially aspiring artists like him.
