Donald Glover in Black Panther Sequel? Informal Talks with Director Ryan Coogler Still on

Ryan Coogler is having informal talks with Donald Glover for playing a role in Black Panther sequel. Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios announced they are coming up with a sequel of Black Panther. The thought of going back to Wakanda gives us goosebumps. Even though we had a glimpse of the place in 'Avengers: Infinity War', it was not enough to satiate our want. Now Black Panther fans will be excited to know that Ryan Coogler the director of the blockbuster movie is taking long strides for the sequel.

Coogler is set to entertain fans with some new and interesting characters which he will be introducing in the Black Panther sequel. Ryan wants Donald Glover to reprise one of these characters. They are still having informal talks and we all see it happen.

Donald Glover who plays the role of Lando in 'Solo-A Star Wars Story' is not new to Black Panther. He is seen in the credits of the film.  Apparently, Donald and his brother Stephen were asked by Ryan Coogler to write a few jokes which were featured in the movie. Donald had mentioned in an interview, "[Director] Ryan [Coogler] was gracious enough to be like, ‘Will you take a look at this script?’ Which was really cool. Marvel locks things down, so we had not as much time as I would’ve wanted. We had a couple of hours to punch up some jokes and stuff like that. It was already there anyway. They had already done a great job, so it was really cool to just get our fingerprints on there a bit."

The scene they wrote was about T’Challa’s coronation near the waterfall. When Zuri, played by Forest Whittaker asks if anyone desires to challenge T’challa for the throne, immediately Shuri lifts her hand and all are surprised and shocked only to be fooled when Shuri says, “This corset is really uncomfortable,” she goes on, “so could we call just wrap it up and go home?” She was only joking. This joke was Glover’s idea.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that Michael B Jordan will be back to reprise the role of the much-loved villain, Erik Killmonger. Yes, we know after watching Black Panther that he was killed. But we also know that he is a comic book villain and villains can be resurrected in the comic world. So, hopefully, we will be seeing Michael playing the complex character of Killmonger once again.

He did a wonderful job as a villain in the first movie. The role was complex and he had prepared months in advance to get the looks and get into that character. It is believed he isolated himself to become that character for the movie and we all know it worked very well.

Let’s hope all works out well. We all had a wonderful experience with Black Panther and we hope the sequel will also live upto our expectations.
