Drug Angle Emerges in the Sushant Singh Rajput Case; Narcotic Control Bureau Drawn into the Case

A new drug angle has emerged in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Whatsapp chats have been retrieved from Rhea Chakraborty’s phone that indicates that she had interactions with drug dealers as a result the Narcotics Control Bureau has been drawn into the case.
The Whatsapp chats were discovered by the Enforcement Directorate while they were exploring a money laundering angle. The ED has submitted the report to the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau for further investigation.
Allegedly there are different conversations between Rhea with people such as Miranda Sushi, Jaya Saha, and Gaurav Arya where the discussion revolved around procuring drugs and how to use them.
The Narcotics Control Bureau is looking into the matter under sections in the law on drugs related to “possessing, purchasing and using cannabis" and “abetment and criminal conspiracy to commit an offence.”
Speaking about the new twist in the case, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer told in a statement yesterday that “she has never consumed drugs in her lifetime ever. She’s ready for a blood test any time.”
The lawyer representing Sushant Singh’s family- Vikas Singh said that it was ‘highly illegal’ if the drugs were being administered to Sushant without his knowledge.
India Today had accessed Sushant Singh’s cook- Neerja Singh’s three-page statement to Mumbai Police where he allegedly claimed that Sushant used to smoke Marijuana.
Meanwhile, on being questioned by CBI, Siddharth Pithani informed the team that 8 hard drives were destroyed on June 8 in the presence of Rhea and Sushant by an IT person. The content of the hard drives is not known and it was the day the couple broke up.
Both Rhea’s father and brother were questioned by the CBI. She will be questioned by the team in the days to come.
Sushant was found dead in his residence on June 14. The CBI is currently investigating the case after it got the go-ahead from the Supreme Court last week.
