Facebook to Save 64 Million Litres of Water Per Year, Claims Its New Building - MPK 21

Facebook attempts to take a friendly step towards preserving the environment, as they add a new building to their Menlo Park headquarters, in San Francisco. The highly sustainable building is equipped with a recycling water system, and can save “approximately 17 million gallons of water every year”, which equivalent to 64 million litres.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg took the initiative to introduce the building to the netizens. She posted on Instagram attaching a pic with MPK 21 architect Frank Gehry, adding, “So grateful to the legendary architect Frank Gehry for designing our new building at @facebookheadquarters - MPK 21. It was made to be highly sustainable and reduce water, energy, and waste. For example, our recycling water system will save approximately 17 million gallons of water every year”

In a few other snaps, Sheryl wanted to share a hint how the building looks indoors and outdoors.

Although the office is single floored, it expands upto 22.7 acres. The 523,000 square feet office space has a vibrant lobby with bicycle parking lot. So if one feels like taking a round on two-wheels, the inside cycle stand makes it convenient.

The photograph taken from outside shows the building is fully glass paneled, surrounded by a chunk of nature.

This open-air space looks no less like a nice and breezy hangout spot. A clutter-free, breathing space where one can take a break, chatter or just relax. And yes, this is also adorned by a dash of greenery.
