Facebook Unveils ‘New Logo’ for Its Special Users

Facebook has recently unveiled a new logo to represent the Silicon Valley Company, which is different from its core social network.

The main aim behind the unveiling of the new logo is to highlight the brand Facebook, which now operates a range of apps and services that include a photo, video sharing, messaging, virtual reality and is now developing wallets for digital currency.

One can see the new branding, which is basically the company name in crisp letters and this will be stamped on its group of offerings that includes WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, Oculus, Workplace, Portal and Calibra, as said by the company’s Chief marketing officer, Antonio Lucio.

Lucio also said, “Today, we are updating our company branding to be clearer about the products that come from Facebook. We are introducing a new company logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding”.

He also added that the new corporate logo “is a way to better communicate our ownership structure to the people and businesses who use our services to connect”.

The move has come at a time when Facebook is under intense scrutiny from the regulators around the world over how it polices content on its platforms, while activists and some politicians are demanding a breakup of the Silicon Valley giants.

Since its beginning 15 years ago the largest social networking application in the world now has acquired Oculus virtual reality gear company as well as Instagram, the image-based social network. Facebook has also launched portal smart screens as well as a social network for Workplace, that is tailored for workplace productivity. While its messaging applications like Messenger and WhatsApp each used by more than a billion people across the world.

Facebook has also started a Calibra as a digital wallet ready for use with the proposed cryptocurrency Libra, though it is on hold now because it has been facing criticism from regulators and lawmakers in various countries of the world.

Facebook, Inc. is the world’s largest online social media and social networking service based in Menlo Park, California. It was founded by Mark Zuckerberg along with his fellow Harvard College friends Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Chris Hughes and Andrew McCollum. Facebook now has more than one billion active users across the world and is considered one of the top four technology companies in the world along with Amazon, Apple and Google.
